Dr. Zakaria

Dr. Zakaria is a licensed, board-certified internal medicine physician. He received his medical degree from the University of Damascus School of Medicine and then completed his residency training at Mercy Medical Center in downtown Chicago in 2011. Dr. Zakaria has been serving his community and practicing in the southwest suburbs of Chicago for over 10 years. He gained extensive experience working in several hospitals as a hospitalist and internist at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital, UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial, Little Company of Mary Medical Center and Metro South Hospital. He cared for critically ill, and medically complex patients, working synergistically with multidisciplinary teams and specialists to ensure optimal outcomes for his patients and their families. In 2017, he established his own practice, Integrative Health Group, with the mission to provide exceptionally high quality, comprehensive patient-centered care, to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of his patients.

Dr. Zakaria is most passionate about listening to his patients and their families, providing them with all options and guiding them along a path of optimal health and wellness. He continually pursues excellence at all levels, through continuing education, staying up to date on the latest medical guidelines and through training and mentorship of his staff. Dr. Zakaria is friendly and approachable while delivering evidence-based patient care.

Dr. Zakaria has a special clinical interest in disease prevention medicine and identifying patients at risk for Metabolic Syndrome. He also is very interested in stress and weight management, as well as Preventive Cardiology, Pre-Diabetes and Type II Diabetes Management.

Dr. Zakaria resides in Palos Heights with his wife and three children. In his spare time he enjoys being outdoors, staying active through physical training and swimming, traveling and learning about other cultures.
